First responders rescued the driver of a vehicle that had driven off the road and plummeted 50 feet off Mount Baker Highway on Wednesday night.

The driver was conscious in the vehicle but she was stuck because it had rolled over. Rescuers were able to free her after about 45 minutes, and helped her back up to the road using rope gear, according to Fire District 14 Chief Jerry DeBruin. District 19 also responded to the incident, according to DeBruin.

The driver suffered only minor injuries and was taken to the St. Joseph Medical Center as a precaution.
