The Pe Ell girls basketball team won its second 1B Columbia Valley League contest in as many days Tuesday, downing Columbia Adventist 54-32.

Peyton Zock posted a monster double-double down low with a game-high 19 points and 30 rebounds — 17 of which came on the offensive boards.

“She is really developing as a player and realizing her potential and it's fun to watch,” Pe Ell coach Kelsey Lennox said.

Karli Phelps added a loaded statline of her own with 14 points, seven assists, five boards and five steals, while Emma Kissner had eight points seven rebounds, three steals and three assists.

The Trojans (9-3, 4-2 1B CVL) opened the game on an 18-3 run, and led by 21 points at halftime. Columbia Adventist only managed to crack 10 points in one of the night’s four quarters.

“We were able to jump on them early with defensive pressure and cause turnovers,” Lennox said. “All the girls gave 100% when they were on the court, and that's what I'm looking for as a coach.”

Pe Ell will get a non-league matchup with 2B Ocosta on Saturday, then take on Willapa Valley next Tuesday in a rivalry game.
