The Adna volleyball team didn’t have much in its home opener on Tuesday, as the Pirates dispatched Castle Rock 25-12, 25-19, 25-17.

Karsyn Freeman led the team in kills with 17, and she added nine digs and an assist, while Kendall Humphrey added 12 kills, 11 digs, and a pair of assists.

Danika Hallom logged 12 digs, 10 kills, and an ace, while Gaby Guard dished out 32 assists and tallied eight digs and a kill. Jaylee Humphrey also recorded eight digs.

“We had a few more missed serves than we normally do, but the girls played through that,” Adna coach Wendie Dotson said. “Gaby did a good job bettering balls that didn’t quite hit the mark. All things that we can easily make better.”

Adna will look to extend its win streak this weekend in Rockford, where they’ll participate in the Freeman Tournament.
