Clark County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man and a woman on Friday in the October killing of a Vancouver woman.

Jordan Sullivan, 31, is accused of first-degree murder in the death of 78-year-old Patricia Jimerfield, officials said. Sullivan is Jimerfield’s grandson. Alyssa Williams, 30, is accused of second-degree murder. Sheriff’s officials describe her as a close friend of Sullivan.

Jimerfield was strangled to death, according to the county medical examiner. She had filed a fraud report hours before she was found dead, the sheriff’s office said. Her bank had notified her of possible fraudulent charges on her account. Her wallet was also missing from her purse.

Williams and Sullivan are also accused of theft charges. Authorities believe they fraudulently used Jimerfield’s bank card prior to her death.

Jimerfield was found around 9:40 p.m. on Oct. 8 at a home near Northwest 26th Avenue and 99th Street in Vancouver, the sheriff’s office said.

According to a probable cause affidavit, authorities believe Sullivan and Williams “acted together” to strangle Jimerfield. While looking through Jimerfield’s bank records, detectives found that an allegedly fraudulent ATM withdrawal and two allegedly fraudulent convenience-store purchases occurred in the hours before her death, according to court records.

Surveillance video from the ATM appeared to show Sullivan and video from the store allegedly showed Sullivan with Williams.

Sullivan spoke with authorities three days after his grandmother’s death and said he now owned her home, the affidavit said. He told a sheriff’s office investigator that his grandmother had filed a transfer-on-death deed with Clark County in his name. Authorities confirmed that the document was filed by Jimerfield in 2021, the affidavit said.

An investigator said the transfer deed is evidence Sullivan benefited financially from the death of his grandmother, court records show.

Home-security records showed someone entered Jimerfield’s home shortly before 7 p.m. on Oct. 8 and left about an hour later, with no other record of entry until someone entered and found her dead. When interviewed by authorities, Sullivan and Williams confirmed they were at her home in that time span, the affidavit said.

Sullivan and Williams both remain in Clark County jail as of Thursday afternoon. Their bail is set at $4 million and $3 million, respectively. Sullivan’s court-appointed attorney could not be immediately reached for comment.
