2B Volleyball: Loggers Swept in Close Match at Toutle

Onalaska came out fired up in the first two sets, but lost a bit of momentum in the third in a 25-21, 25-23, 25-14 Central 2B League volleyball loss at Toutle Lake on Tuesday.

Morgan Hamilton led the way with 11 kills and 13 digs, including seven kills in the first set. Hannah James added four kills with 10 digs and Raelee Holmes had 17 digs.

Hamilton, James and Holmes were all perfect from the service stripe, with Holmes connecting on all 16 of her attempts.

Dakotah Hamilton added 12 assists with four aces.

“We played awesome in the first two. It was scrappy from both teams,” Onalaska coach Jennifer Hamilton said. “Both teams were making saves that you don’t normally see.”

After two close sets, though, the Ducks pulled away in the finale.

“The third set we just had too many unforced errors,” Hamilton said. “They got us on serve-receive in that third set, which you typically don’t see from us.”

Still, the coach was happy with the effort.

“I felt like our team showed up and showed Toutle Lake, or anybody out there, that we’re here to play this year,” she added.

Onalaska (5-3, 1-1 league) hosts Toledo on Thursday.
