The Adna soccer team ended the first half of its game against Tonasket in Quincy on Saturday on a hot note, but it was the Tigers who ended the second on the front foot to win 3-2.
Tonasket broke a scoreless second half with a game-winner in the 69th minute.
“The eastern Washington afternoon head and the third game of a long week definitely showed for us at times, but we still battled through,” Adna coach Patrick Richardson said.
The Pirates (0-4-1) trailed 2-0 just 17 minutes in, but came back late in the first half. Lydia Tobin drew Adna a goal back in the 32nd minute, taking a pass from the wide areas from Bailey Naillon and breaking through the defense. Six minutes after that, Margarite Humphrey got the ball on the wing, 30 yards from goal, and lifted a long shot into the top of the net, over the goalkeeper’s hands.
Adna will wrap up its stacked non-league schedule at home Monday, against 3A Kelso.
