Posted

Bing and Coreene Longshore are celebrating 65 years of marriage.

They first met July 5, 1958, in Kennewick, and, when he took her home, he said he was going to marry her. They continued to date and were married Sept. 19, 1959 at Larson Air Force Base in Grant County, Washington. Bing was a military man.

They had their first child, a boy, Alan, in Moses Lake. The next child, another boy, was born in Great Falls, Montana.

His next military station was in France. After a year, they moved to Tarragona, Spain, and a baby girl joined the family. The next station was back in the United States in Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Bing received orders from Thailand so the family moved to Longview, Washington. His last assignment was in Sacramento, California, at McClellan Air Force Base.

Inspiration then moved them back to Toledo.

He was employed at Green Hill and, due to an accident at the airport, the doctor medically retired him. At this time Coreene was the librarian at Toledo Middle School.

They were very involved with Toledo Cheese Days, and Coreene worked with the young girls to sell buttons.
