Anniversary Announcement: Steve and Linda Smith Celebrate 50 Years of Marriage

Steve and Linda Smith celebrated 50 years of marriage on Saturday, June 19, at Mountain View Baptist Church in Centralia.

The couple met while attending college at Central Washington State College, which is now Central Washington University, in the fall of 1969 in Ellensburg.

They married June 19, 1971, in Omak.

Linda was raised in Omak and her parents are Louis and Wilma Dykes. Steve grew up in Chehalis and his are parents Vic and Irene Smith. The couple received teaching degrees from Central Washington State College in 1971 and worked their entire teaching careers in the Centralia School District.

Linda taught 31 years at several elementary schools within the district while Steve taught physical education for 40 years at Centralia High School.

They both retired in 2011.

Steve and Linda have two children: Trevor, who is married to Tracy Smith, of Chehalis; and Stacey, who is married to Alex McCracken, of Poulsbo. They have three grandchildren: Peyton and Mckenna Smith and Charlie McCracken.

They would like to thank their family and friends for making their anniversary so special.
