Whether you’ve got hundreds of feet of model railroad track already laid out in a display and are looking for upgrades, or someone new to the hobby just curious as to what it’s all about, the annual fall Lewis County Model Railroad Club Train Show & Swap Meet has trains, tracks and accessories for all model scales and more.
Additionally, some vendors bring along collections of real, used vintage railroad equipment ranging from old rail company time tables to conductor’s lanterns.
The model train show and swap meet will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds’ Blue Pavilion building, located at 2555 National Blvd. in Chehalis.
Admission is $5 per person, with children 10 and getting in for free. Additionally, early bird access to the train show and swap meet will be available from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday for $10 per person. Parking at the fairgrounds is free.
The Lewis County Model Railroad Club holds two annual train shows and swap meets at the fair grounds, one each spring and the other in the fall. The club also maintains a massive scale model display inside the Lewis County Historical Museum in downtown Chehalis.
