Arbor Health is focusing on flu prevention and wellness by offering an opportunity for community members to protect themselves ahead of flu season, according to a recent news release from the healthcare provider.
From 1 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6, Arbor Health will offer drive-thru flu vaccinations at Morton, Mossyrock and Randle clinics as well as in Packwood at the fire station. The event gives residents throughout the district an opportunity to receive their annual flu vaccine without leaving their vehicle.
The drive-thru flu vaccination clinics are part of a broader Arbor Health effort to help individuals and families prepare for flu season through vaccination, learn practical prevention strategies, and protect those most vulnerable to complications from contracting the flu, including older adults, young children, pregnant women and individuals with certain chronic medical conditions.
“Preventing illness whenever and wherever we can is among our highest priorities,” Eric Neal, CEO of Arbor Health, said in the news release. “I commend the work of our clinic teams and their efforts to organize this event again this year, and I hope to see a big turnout in support of preventing flu from spoiling the season.”
Flu vaccinations can also be given by appointment at each Arbor Health clinic, including for pediatric patients, after the drive-thru flu shot clinic event.
