Arbor Health’s new clinic in Packwood is now expected to open in April 2023 after initial plans called for the location to be open in September.

It’s the second delay announced the the clinic, which was originally slated to open in September of this year.

“Arbor Health administrators report that the supply chain challenges being felt across the nation are causing problems at home as well,” the health care provider wrote in a news release.

“We are all disappointed in the delays,” said Arbor Health CEO Leianne Everett in a prepared statement. “We so wanted to hit the ground running on January 2. The staff is hired, our medical equipment is ready, it’s just getting the building remodel completed. This is of no fault of the developers or contractors. They have explored alternate opportunities to complete the remodel; but they are stuck until they can secure the building components.

She added, “in the meantime, we are keeping our staff employed full time elsewhere in our facilities. They will be ready to go on the first possible day. When we finally get to put the “open” sign in the window, it will be a day of celebration for all of us.”

Arbor Health is the parent organization of Morton Hospital, the Rapid Care Clinic in Morton and primary care clinics in Morton, Mossyrock and Randle.

Arbor Health announced over the summer it had secured a location for a new primary care clinic in Packwood at the Peter’s Inn building, located at 13052 U.S. Highway 12.

Arbor Health CEO Leianne Everett and Facilities Director Matthew Lindstrom met with the property developers on July 6 to review the building’s remodel and Arbor Health’s intended uses, Arbor Health announced in a news release at the time.

“The eventual plan is to add additional outpatient services such as physical therapy,” Everett said in a prepared statement. “I speak for both the administration and the board of commissioners when I say that we are thrilled to be able to open this clinic. It has been on our radar for years and I know it has been the hope of many community members to have medical services return to their hometown. We could not be happier to fulfill those dreams.”
