Assured Hospice of Centralia this week announced the launch of its new Family Caregiver Support Group.

The program is designed to provide vital support and resources for family caregivers in the community, according to a news release.

The support group will convene every second Thursday of the month beginning June 13. Attendees will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Assured Hospice office, 1815 Cooks Hill Road, Suite B, Centralia.

The topic of the first meeting will be "10 Tips for Family Caregivers."

The Family Caregiver Support Group is free and open to the public.

“Whether you are new to caregiving or have been providing care for years, this meeting will offer insights and strategies to help you navigate the challenges and joys of caregiving,” Assured Hospice stated online. “Our goal is to create a supportive community where you can share experiences and connect with others who understand what you're going through. We encourage everyone to attend, as this is a great opportunity to learn, share, and find support.”

The sessions will be facilitated by Mathew March, bereavement coordinator and chaplain at Assured Hospice of Centralia, who brings experience and compassion to his role, according to the release.

"We understand the immense responsibilities and emotional toll that come with being a family caregiver," March said. "Our goal is to provide a supportive space where caregivers can find understanding, resources and a sense of community."

Reservations for the support group are not required but are appreciated. Refreshments will be provided.
