Assured Hospice is celebrating moving to its new location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce.
The event takes place at noon Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 1815 Cooks Hill Road, Suite B, in Centralia.
“This is a great opportunity to learn about their services, tour the facility and discover volunteer opportunities with Assured Hospice,” said Chamber Director Cynthia Mudge said in a news release.
Assured Hospice has been serving the community for nearly 45 years. It has been sharing space with Home Health Services, which has limited its ability to increase services. The new location is larger and is now on the ground floor, which enables Assured Hospice to expand its services, according to the release.
“The ground level makes us more accessible and allows us to add support groups for caregivers as well as the grief support already provided,” said Lindsay Giberson, account executive.
The new space is still close to Home Health and across from the hospital, so the convenience remains unchanged. Giberson and the staff are excited about the move.
She said, “We can serve our community even better with the expansion and accessibility.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house will allow Assured Hospice to promote the new services as well as its need for volunteers.
“We have volunteers who provide companionship for patients by playing cards, reading and creating memory books,” noted Director Bethany Seymour “Our sewing volunteers create special memory gifts by turning favorite shirts and other clothes into blankets, totes or teddy bears,”
Assured Hospice also has a Vet to Vet program for veterans who want to support other veterans in need.
