Bail is set at $100,000 for a Packwood man accused of assaulting a woman repeatedly between Oct. 26 and Oct. 27 and then threatening to kill a neighbor who attempted to intervene.

The man, identified as Bradley Chester Odman, 51, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail just before 9:10 p.m. on Oct. 28 after the victim reported the assault. The victim reported Odman “had been hostile over the last couple days” and that he had assaulted her once the evening of Oct. 26 and again the evening of Oct. 27. The victim said he had repeatedly threatened to kill her, according to court documents.

In her statement to law enforcement personnel, the victim reportedly stated “this was the most fearful for her life she had ever been.”

Responding deputies confirmed the victim had visible injuries to her mouth, neck, arm and chest that were consistent with her statement, according to court documents.

Odman is also accused of threatening to kill a neighbor who reportedly attempted to intervene in the Oct. 27 assault. When interviewed by law enforcement, the neighbor said he had been aware of the Oct. 26 incident and “went over to (the victim’s) home and walked in the door because he could hear Bradley yelling at (the victim)” on Oct. 27, according to court documents. Odman allegedly “came at (the neighbor) with what looked like a gun, pointed it at him and threatened to ‘end him’ or ‘end this,’ which (the neighbor) took as a threat to shoot him,” according to court documents. Odman reportedly fled when the neighbor “proceeded toward” him.”

Odman was charged in Lewis County Superior Court on Monday, Oct. 30, with one count each of domestic violence second-degree assault, domestic violence fourth-degree assault, domestic violence felony harassment, second-degree assault and felony harassment.

Judge Joely Yeager agreed to grant the state’s request for $100,000 bail on Monday, calling the allegations “extremely concerning not only to this victim but to community safety as a whole.”

Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 2.
