Bail is set at $25,000 for a man accused of breaking into his mother’s Centralia residence in violation of a restraining order on Saturday.

Aaron Douglas Garman, 45, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at approximately 7 p.m. on July 28 after a deputy with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible burglary in the 1400 block of North Pearl Street the day prior, according to jail records and court documents.

Two neighbors who reported the incident advised that they saw a man “peeking into the window of a house next door,” according to court documents.

One of the neighbors later looked through the window of the house and saw a man inside the home take items from the home outside into his truck, according to court documents.

The deputy reportedly contacted the homeowner and confirmed that she was not coming home that night and that her son, Garman, was not allowed in her home, according to court documents.

Neighbors reportedly identified the man inside the Pearl Street residence as Garman.

One of the neighbors who reported the incident to law enforcement claimed that “Aaron waits for (his mother) to leave, then sneaks into the house and steals things,” according to court documents.

After obtaining permission from the homeowner to enter the property, the responding deputy reportedly found Garman “outside in a tent in the back of the property,” according to court documents.

Due to a protection order issued in March 2024, Garman is prohibited from being within 1,000 feet of his mother’s residence, according to court documents.

Garman was charged Monday, July 29 with one count each of residential burglary, domestic violence; and violation of a court order, domestic violence.
Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1.
