On a gorgeous day at Riverside Golf Course, the W.F. West girls golf team defeated Rochester under the Stableford scoring format, 72-39.
The Bearcats were led by match medalist Natalie Eklund, who shot a 50 over nine holes to score 23 points. Behind her, Grace Oien scored 17 points, Kendall Rasmussen scored 14, Abby Alexander carded 13 points and Macy Shannon scored four points.
“We struggled coming back from spring break to get back into our golf form,” Bearcats coach Matt Klovdahl said. “We did just enough to win. Any time you can have four girls score double digits in the Stableford format you know you’re in pretty good shape.”
The Warriors were led by Izzy Masias’ team-high 16 points, with Audrey Williams scoring 14, and Cassey Arreglado, Mallory Gilbert, and Aline Silfer scoring three points a piece.
The Bearcats are back in action against Aberdeen at Newaukum on Thursday.
