Bearcats Close Regular Season With Win Over Bobcats

Posted

Cameron Sheets scored twice, and Maddy Casper put the exclamation point on a 3-1 W.F. West victory over Aberdeen Tuesday night in the Bearcats regular season finale.

Sheets delivered the game’s first goal in the 23rd minute off a direct free kick, and then scored again in the 33rd off a slick pass from Emily Mallonee. The Bobcats cut the lead in the half thanks to a goal in the 47th, but Casper made a penalty kick in the 77th to ice the victory for the Bearcats.

The win means that the Bearcats have potentially put themselves in a position to host in the district tournament this Saturday. W.F. West split its matchups against Black Hills this season, meaning the two schools share second place as it stands. Hosting privileges could come down to a coin flip later this week. The third seed would have to travel to play a Greater St. Helens 2A League squad.
