The W.F. West girls basketball team honored its lone senior, then put forward another dominant performance, doubling up Aberdeen 68-34 to end the regular season.

“We did a lot of really nice things and I was really proud of the fire we came out with,” W.F. West coach Kyle Karnofski said. “We had to show up and play a full 32 minutes, and we came out like it.”

Julia Dalan led the Bearcats with 21 points, and Lena Fragner and Grace Simpson both pitched in 15, combining to hit seven 3-pointers.

Meanwhile, senior Morgan Rogerson only scored six, but put in another signature performance of helping to lead the way on defense and facilitating the offense, or as the WFW coaching staff has called it for the past few seasons now, “doing Mo Things.”

“She does all the little things, and she does everything you could ever ask for,” Karnofski said. “She plays her butt off every time she’s on the floor.”

The win kept W.F. West a tiebreaker ahead of Tumwater to end the season, earning the Bearcats the top spot in the 2A EvCo. W.F. West will get a week to rest, then face either Washougal or Ridgefield at home next Friday.
