The W.F. West boys basketball team’s season came to an end Tuesday in Tumwater, with the Bearcats taking their second loss in the 2A District 4 tournament, 62-52 to Ridgefield.

Soren Dalan and Tyler Klatush shared the team lead with 18 points for the Bearcats. Dalan finished his senior season with 430 points, good for seventh all-time in W.F. West history, averaging over 20 points per game. He also wraps up his career with the program record for career rebounds and blocks.

Behind those two, though, no Bearcat finished close to double figures, with Gage Brumfield and Parker Eiswald each coming in at six points.

The Bearcats trailed by one after a low-scoring first quarter, but Ridgefield went on a run in the second to go into halftime up 29-18. W.F. West responded with its best quarter of the night in the third to cut the deficit to five, but the Spudders answered back in the fourth.

W.F. West ends its season with a 14-8 record, and having gone winless at the district tournament for the first time since 2019. The Bearcats will graduate four seniors: Dalan, Hunter Niemi, Hunter Lutman, and Brian Anouma.
