Senior ace Kamy Dacus fanned 15 batters and allowed just four hits as W.F. West raced past visiting Shelton for an 11-1, run-rule victory in six innings on Monday.

“Kamy had a great game and really handled herself well in the circle,” W.F. West coach Caty Lieseke said.

The Bearcats tallied 10 total hits as a team, led by Savannah Hawkins’ 2 for 3 performance at the plate that included a home run.

Lena Fragner was 1 for 2 with two runs scored, Saige Brindle went 2 for 3, Staysha Fluetsch was 2 for 3 with a double and Clara Bunker went 1 for 2.

“I was happy to see us come out and score every inning,” Lieseke said. “We strung hits together and were patient at the plate. Up and down the lineup, people put the ball in play.”

W.F. West (3-1) has now won three in a row and heads to Tumwater for a 4:30 p.m. game on Tuesday.
