Beavers Clamp Down on Grizzlies in First League Win

Posted

Led by Ashley Schow’s 22 points and Abby Severse’s 10, the Tenino girls basketball team opened league play with a resounding, 49-12, win over Hoquiam.

The Beavers held Hoquiam to single digit scoring in every frame, and allowed just three made field goals throughout all four quarters Tuesday night.

“Our defense was solid all four quarters,” Beavers coach Scott Ashmore said. “We fed off of that and the turnovers we created, and we were really aggressive on offense.”

The Beavers (9-3, 1-0 1A Evergreen) struggled to shoot the ball again, but the offense flowed and in the raised stakes of league play, did enough to trounce the Grizzlies in their 2022 debut.

Tenino will head to Elma for its next contest next Wednesday with more than a week off.
