Another huge night from its two junior stars powered the Tenino boys basketball team come away with a 65-60 win over East Jefferson in non-league play Saturday afternoon.
Noah Schow and Austin Gonia combined for all but six of the Beavers’ points, but those two did enough scoring as a pair to just about match the Rivals by themselves. Schow dropped 35 points on 14-of-33 shooting, while Gona went 10 for 18 for 24 points.
Ashton Moore and Preston Snider each added three points for the remainder of the total for the Beavers (4-2).
Gonia led the Beavers on the glass with 13 rebounds and Schow had 10 of his own, giving both juniors double-doubles. Gonia also had a team-high five assists.
Tenino led by two points at halftime but lost its lead completely in the third, needing a 19-11 run in the fourth quarter to come from behind to win.
The Beavers will get a non-league district showdown next Tuesday, hosting Castle Rock.
