Bighorn ram destroys windows at Chelan County building

WENATCHEE — Chelan County's waste facility in Sunnyslope had a rude awakening Tuesday morning when a bighorn ram destroyed several of its windows.

The Chelan County Moderate Risk Waste Facility incurred about $3,500 worth of damages after a ram slammed four windows at the facility located at 3612 Highway 97A outside Wenatchee.

The ram was likely "attacking the reflection staring back at him," Chelan County Public Works wrote on its Facebook page.

"Rest assured, we will find the suspect," the post said. "He left behind hair evidence and DNA residue among the damages. We also have a photo of the suspect, mocking staff. If you see him, please do not make contact. Headbutts are his weapon of choice."

The county's 5,000-square-foot waste facility accepts household hazardous waste, including used cooking oil, paint thinner and car batteries from Chelan County residents and safely disposes of it in a safe manner.
