The 2A Evergreen Conference boys golf season came to an end on Monday, as golfers from all five league teams met at Riverside Golf Club in Chehalis for the EvCo Tournament.

Black Hills’ Phoenix Flores came away with the win, leading the pack with a 2-over 73, and Tumwater’s Braeden Konrad was named EvCo MVP after finishing second with a 4-over 75.

League MVP and All-EvCo teams were determined by a formula that averaged out scores from across the season.

Each golfer's top four nine-hole scores, top 18-hole score, and their score on Monday were taken into account. Konrad finished on top to earn the award, while the second through seventh place finishers earned first-team all-league honors.

The All-EvCo first team includes W.F. West’s Weston Potter and Jamie Conzatti, Tumwater’s Landon Baydo and Zane Laposky, and Black Hills’ Flores and Jack Casler.

The second team was made up of golfers that placed eighth through 13th, which included Centralia’s Tyler Fagerness, W.F. West’s Emmett Goodman and Jax Potter, and Tumwater’s Baylor Olson, Liam Gustafson, and Scott Ellis.

While Flores took home the top individual spot in the tournament on Tuesday, W.F. West came away with the team title.

Team points were assigned based on where each individual finished, and five of the six Bearcats that played finished in the top 10.

Weston Potter was the highest finisher for W.F. West, taking third with a 6-over 77, while Goodman finished tied with Fagerness for fifth with an 82.

Fox Rogerson placed seventh with an 84, and Conzatti and Carter Hinkley tied for eighth alongside Baydo with 85s.

Led by Kondrad’s runner-up finish, the T-Birds took second with a team score of 187, while Flores helped Black Hills take third with 162.

Aberdeen scored 137 team points, and Centralia finished fifth with 79.

Next up for area golfers is the 2A District 4 Tournament, which is set to take place next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 21 and 22, at Heron Lake Golf Course in Portland, Oregon.

All 28 golfers who participated in the league tournament qualified for districts, either by averaging a low enough score throughout the season or shooting under a 120 on Monday.
