Blue Zones — a worldwide organization focusing on learning from the world’s longest-lived cultures to help people in communities everywhere live longer and better — is hosting a presentation at the Vernetta Smith Chehalis Timberland Library on Tuesday from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m., according to a news release.

“Please join us for a community presentation on the Blue Zones Activate initiative, and learn more about our work within food systems of Lewis County,” stated a flier attached to the release.

According to the website, the Activate initiative is a community-led effort to create healthier environments to reduce the need for health care, increase workforce productivity and increase the general wellbeing within a community. It is the second phase of three required for a community to become a Blue Zone.
