Brackets for the 2A, 1A, 2B and 1B volleyball tournaments were released on Sunday, and six local teams are still in contention for a state championship in the 2A and 2B tournaments.

The 2B and 1B teams will take the court first on Wednesday and Thursday in Yakima, while the 2A and 1A teams will follow on Friday and Saturday.

Headlining the 2B bracket are the 18-0 Adna Pirates, who just won their third district title in school history and are entering the state tournament unbeaten for the first time in school history.

They earned the top seed in the tournament, and they’ll start play against No. 16 Warden at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday.

With a win, they may face a familiar foe in Rainier, who earned the No. 9 seed after a 15-6 season. The Mountaineers will face No. 8 River View at the same time.

One spot behind Rainier is Napavine, who finished the season 16-5 and is the No. 10 seed despite topping the Mountaineers in the district tournament third-place game on Saturday.

They’ll be the first matchup on the main court at the SunDome, taking on No. 7 Okanogan.

Mossyrock will also begin play on Wednesday. The Vikings will enter the tournament with a 15-3 record and as the No. 3 seed, they’ll take on the winner of the play-in game between No. 14 Darrington and No. 19 Soap Lake.

Tumwater and Black Hills will take the court on Friday after both teams won winner-to-state games on Saturday.

As the No. 7 seed, the Thunderbirds will take on No. 10 Shadle Park, while the 12th-seeded Wolves will face No. 5 White River. Both of those games are at 12:45 p.m. on Friday.
