An employee at Braun Northwest Inc. in Chehalis was struck and killed by another employee while working under a vehicle Friday morning.
The deceased employee’s identity had not been released as of Friday afternoon.
“There was an incident involving two employees, one was under a vehicle while the other did not know and unfortunately ran him over,” Lewis County Sheriff’s Office Special Services Chief Gabriel Frase told a Chronicle reporter at the scene.
Braun Northwest Inc. is an ambulance manufacturer and medical supply store located at 150 Northstar Rd. in Chehalis.
In an official statement Friday morning, Braun Northwest owner John Braun said, “It is with deep sadness that we share the tragic loss of one of our team members due to a workplace accident. We are heartbroken by this event and are committed to working closely with Labor and Industries, as well as the sheriff's office, to fully understand what happened. Our prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to the family and loved ones. Our thoughts are also with the coworkers who are deeply affected by this loss, and we stand together to support each other during this incredibly difficult time.”
