Junior Hailey Brooks went 3 for 3 with a home run and a triple and Mossyrock had no trouble dispatching Oakville, 14-4, in six innings during the Vikings’ season opener at home on Thursday.
The Vikings pounded out 13 total hits on the day and put the game away with a seven-run sixth-inning to seal the victory.
as four Vikings finished with a multi-hit day. Jolee Hadaller went 3 for 4 with two doubles, Lois Stone was 2 for 4 and Kimberly Villalba was 2 for 3.
Hadaller pitched a 12-strikeout complete game, allowing five hits and two walks with Brooks catching.
“It was a good outing and good to get the younger girls a few innings and get the jitters out,” Mossyrock coach Keith Coleman said.
Oakville’s ace Alexis Starr finished with 10 strikeouts in a commendable performance, Coleman said.
Mossyrock (1-0) hosts Rainier in a non-league tilt on Friday.
