Cats rescued from two-story house fire in Cowlitz County

Crews from Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue extinguished a fire at a two-story house Wednesday afternoon in northern Kelso.

Crews were dispatched just after 3 p.m. to a structure fire, according to a department press release, and found a two-story building with a fire in the garage, which spread to the front windows.

The PulsePoint App reports the fire was in the 100 block of Parker Place.



After firefighters doused the blaze and searched through the structure, they rescued multiple cats, the press release states.

No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue sent three fire engines, one water tender, one ALS ambulance, and two chief officers. Cowlitz County Fire District 6 provided a water tender and the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office provided animal services officers.
