The Centralia City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday night to approve an amendment to its biennial budget.
Under the amendment, the budget for the City of Centralia will increase by $1,681,001 to $167,976,100 for the 2021-2022 biennium.
The amendment provides additional funding for the Centralia Police Department, including increased expenditure authority for an $8,000 K9 program grant, $569,364.30 for the purchase of land approved by the council at its June 14 meeting and $988,000 for Centralia’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Project.
