At its board meeting on Wednesday, June 12, the Centralia Downtown Association (CDA) approved four facade grants for downtown businesses totaling $20,000.

The recipients were Jewelry Boutique, Ox Centralia, Rectangle Gallery and The Juice Box.

Each business went through an application process that includes review of the proposed changes by the Historic Preservation Commission. Approval by the CDA board was the final step in the process before the businesses could receive the funds.

“We are so excited to award these facade grants to our downtown businesses,” said MacKenzie McGee, CDA executive director. “We want to see downtown constantly improving, and awarding these facade grants annually is just one way the CDA is committed to bettering downtown. Together, we can continue to make this the best place to live, work and play. Congratulations to our 2024 recipients”

While the CDA has now awarded all of its 2024 facade grants funds, there are still safety grants available and micro grants coming soon for businesses that submit a qualifying application.
