Centralia officers use pepper spray and arrest Chehalis man after foot pursuit Monday

A 20-year-old Chehalis man was pepper sprayed and arrested by Centralia police Monday afternoon. 

Officers were alerted to the whereabouts of Dayton L. Keyes, who was wanted on a Department of Corrections probation violation for a first-degree assault charge, at about 4:37 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of South Tower Avenue. Keyes started running when officers approached, according to the police department. 



Officers caught up to him nearby and used pepper spray to stop him, according to police. He was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail.
