Stacy Denham, chief of the Centralia Police Department, will run to replace Lindsey Pollock as a Lewis County commissioner during the 2024 election.

Denham announced his campaign in a news release late Thursday night. He is the second candidate to throw their hat into the ring, joining Winlock business owner Christina Riley.

A Republican, Denham cites his qualifications as a longtime law enforcement officer. He’s been the Centralia Police Chief for three years.

“During this time, I have worked with many administrators, elected officials, and business owners to build consensus and work at solving problems that impact the daily lives of our community members,” the release states.

According to the release, Denham has been a resident of Chehalis for nearly 30 years. His community participation includes volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club of Lewis County, Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce, coaching youth sports and the Centralia Police Officers Association, according to the release.

If elected, Denham says he wants to focus on public safety, which includes “Working to combat homelessness by dealing with the core issues that cause it,” building a strong economy and bringing “family wage jobs” to the county, and integrity through being “fiscally responsible” in the County budgeting process.
