Chamber: Scholarships Now Available for Lewis County School Students

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce announced that 4 p.m. on April 28 will be the submission deadline for Lewis County high school students to apply for 10 different scholarships, according to a news release.

Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $2,000 and will be awarded at the annual Rob Fuller Scholarship Luncheon where the top 25 students from Centralia and Chehalis will also be honored. The luncheon is scheduled for May 9. 

The 10 available scholarships include: 

• The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce 2023 Rob Fuller Scholarship, available to W.F. West and Centralia High School graduating seniors that are children or grandchildren of current Chamber members. A minimum of two scholarships may be awarded for at least $1,000 each.

• The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce 2023 Olivia Mitchell Scholarship, available to Adna High School graduating seniors. One scholarship for a minimum of $500 will be awarded.

• The 2023 Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP Cheyllyn Collinsworth Scholarship, available to W.F. West and Centralia High School seniors interested in pursuing a teaching career. One $500 scholarship will be awarded.

• The 2023 Boys & Girls Club Scholarship, available to all W.F. West and Centralia High School graduating seniors. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. 

• The 2023 Centralia Community Foundation Education Scholarship, available to Centralia High School graduating seniors interested in going into the education field. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. 

• The 2023 Rainier Connect STEM Scholarship, available to W.F. West and Centralia High School graduating seniors with educational experience in the science, technology, engineering or mathematics fields. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. 

• The 2023 Title Guaranty Company of Lewis County Citizenship Scholarship, available to W.F. West and Centralia High School graduating seniors based off demonstration of their Lewis County citizenship through community service and volunteerism. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. 

• The 2023 TwinStar Credit Union Business Leader of Tomorrow Scholarship, available to W.F. West and Centralia High School graduating seniors interested in going into the business or finance fields. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. 



• The 2023 Valley View Health Center Nursing Scholarship, available to W.F. West and Centralia High School graduating seniors interested in becoming a registered nurse. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded. 

• The 2023 Visiting Nurses Foundation Scholarship, available to all high school graduating seniors across Lewis County interested in becoming a registered nurse. A total of $25,000 in scholarship money is available and will be awarded to students in amounts of $1,000 to $2,000.

Once applications have been completed, they can be mailed or delivered in person to the chamber, located at 500 NW Chamber of Commerce Way, Chehalis, WA 98532. 

Those applying for the 2023 Visiting Nurses Foundation Scholarship must turn in applications directly to the Visiting Nurses Foundation by 11:59 p.m. on April 28. The foundation is located at 222 South Pearl St. in Centralia.

Rob Fuller was a former Chehalis City Council member and president of Fuller’s Grocery Store; he passed away in 2011 at the age of 67 following his fourth round battling cancer. 

In 2011 the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce established the Rob Fuller Scholarship program to honor the long-time community business owner, leader, volunteer and philanthropist. Then, in 2022, the chamber board established the Rob Fuller Scholarship Fund as its own nonprofit.
