The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad has announced it will host a Western-themed dinner train excursion through the Chehalis River Valley at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.
Attendees should come dressed for the frontier and ready to ride in cowboy style.
The historic 1920s passenger cars seat up to 100 guests for the ride along 9 miles of scenic countryside beside the Chehalis River.
A buffet dinner is served on the deck in the themed dining car as characters and entertainment unfold along the route, according to a news release from the railroad.
The two-hour experience is $89 per person and includes a three-course meal plus the scenic train ride. A barbecue dinner will be catered by Joy’s Once Upon a Thyme. It includes ribs, baked beans, macaroni salad, fruit slaw and cornbread — finished with a chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting.
Lemonade, coffee, and water are included, and beer, wine and cocktails will be available for purchase onboard.
Reservations are required. The train departs promptly at 5 p.m. from the station, located at 1101 SW Sylvenus St., Chehalis. Visit steamtrainride.com for tickets and details.
