Chehalis Outfitters looks to ‘give hunger the boot’

It’s that time of year.

Chehalis Outfitters is launching its annual longstanding effort to assist the Lewis County Food Bank Coalition.

The business’ two-week Truckload Boot Sale runs Sept. 14 through Sept. 27. Through a partnership with Georgia Boot, $5 from every sale of the brand’s boots will be donated to the coalition.

The sale was a tradition started by Sunbird Shopping Center. Chehalis Outfitters has carried on the effort.

“Come in and see the large selection of boots that are on sale along with many other sales going throughout the store,” wrote store manager Kelli Erb. “Plus, stop by the sporting goods department and see the new changes as they are getting ready for the return of firearms. It has been two years since the store has been able to sell firearms and they are back in business. In addition to adding more to the prior lineup that Sunbirds carried, they will be able to do special orders and transfers.”

The business also has several free events coming up soon.

At 10: 30 a.m. Sept. 23, Chehalis Outfitters will host a free fishing seminar put on by BnR Tackle owner Brandon Wedam and Beau Smith, of Lead Head guide service. They will talk about fishing for fall salmon.

On Oct. 7, the business is hosting a seminar on how to make jerky and sausage with a representative from LEM. A demonstration on how to process your own meat at home will also be offered. There will be giveaways.

Chehalis Outfitters is located at 1757 N. National Ave., in Chehalis. Business hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
