The Winlock baseball team played two games Wednesday against Kalama but couldn’t muster a hit in either, falling 11-0 in five innings and 19-1 in four in a pair of Central 2B League losses.

The Cardinals’ only baserunners in the first game came on four walks; they drew three walks and a hit batter in the second, and also reached base on an error.

Brynden Swearingen and Kaden Stariha combined on the hill to toss the first no-no, while Gavin McBride and Nolan Scott threw the second.

James Cusson took the first loss for the Cardinals, allowing 10 runs in 3 ⅓ innings. Emilio Martinez Ziese-Wilkins made a pair of relief appearances for Winlock, allowing one run in the first game and seven in the second, though only three of those were earned.

Winlock made 10 errors on the afternoon, with its pitchers giving up 11 earned runs and 19 unearned runs.

The Cardinals will be back on the field Saturday at Toutle Lake.
