A 54-year-old Cinebar woman died Saturday night following what was reported as a single-car crash near Moon Road off U.S. Highway 12 in South Thurston County, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol.
The woman was identified by the county coroner as Amy Ayers. She suffered a medical event before her vehicle slowly rolled onto the shoulder of the roadway without causing damage, Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock told The Chronicle
According to the state patrol, Ayers was driving a 2017 Nissan Versa eastbound on Highway 12 just east of Moon Road Southwest at about 11:10 p.m. Feb. 21 when her vehicle “left the roadway to the right and came to rest in the ditch.”
First responders declared her dead at the scene. It is unknown whether she was wearing a seatbelt.
According to the release, the roadway was blocked for about four hours and 47 minutes.
