The City of Centralia is planting eight new trees in the downtown area as part of an ongoing effort to enhance safety, shade, walkability and long-term vibrancy, according to a news release from the Centralia Downtown Association.
The trees will be planted from Feb. 17 to 20.
During that week, residents might notice temporary sidewalk or parking impacts near planting locations as crews work, the release stated.
Access to businesses will remain open, and any disruptions will be short.
The new trees are part of a broader vision to create a more “welcoming, climate-resilient and people-friendly downtown,” according to the news release.
