Class of 2024: Meet W.F. West High School’s top 10 graduates

W.F. West High School and Centralia High School joined together early last month to honor and recognize the top 10 academic seniors from each school for the class of 2024.

W.F. West High School ranks its top 10 graduating seniors by grade point average (GPA), and students must graduate with honors or be a Running Start college student. W.F. West High School’s graduation ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at Bearcat Stadium in Chehalis.

Here's where the top 10 graduates plan to go from here.

• Justin Chung plans on working toward a degree in biology at Southern Adventist University with the goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.

• Aspen Goble will attend George Fox University aiming for a doctorate in clinical psychology. She is excited to perform with the George Fox drumline and grow in her faith during her time there.

• Lia Hornby plans to attend Washington State University Tri-Cities to obtain a degree in mechanical engineering.

• Grace Oien plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in applied management from Centralia College and continue to play golf for Centralia College’s program.

• Laurel Toynbee plans to study biochemistry at the University of Washington. After undergraduate work, she plans to attend a health care-based post-graduate program.



• Brea Tracy plans to begin her studies in biochemistry, although she has not decided which university she will attend. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to attend a health care-based post-graduate program.

• Ella Young plans to continue her softball career at Grinnell College and double major in biochemistry and philosophy and then pursue a career as a medical scientist. Her hope is to find better treatment and possibly a cure for Sanfilippo Syndrome.

Tommy L. Caperon plans to attend the University of Washington in the fall to get his bachelor's degree in business management.

• Courtney Pinkerton plans to attend Centralia College to complete her associate degree and later transfer to a university to earn a bachelor’s degree in biology. Courtney intends to become a high school science teacher and continue to lead in Young Life.

• Hayden Blanton-Lamping will attend Gonzaga University to attain her bachelor’s of science in nursing degree. Her career goal is to become a certified nurse and midwife.
