Garage Sale

March 11 at the Trinity Rebekah Lodge, 111 W. Washington St., Napavine

The garage sale will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 11. A lunch of burgers and potato salad will be served. Lunch will be $8. 

 

Free Tax Service

March 11 at the Mossyrock Grange Hall, 152 Isbell Road, Mossyrock; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This event offers free volunteer income tax assistance for seniors and those with low incomes. 

 

Pet Treat Tasting

March 11 at the Tractor Supply Company, 1050 NW Maryland Ave., Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This event will give pets the chance to sample a variety of pet treats available at the Tractor Supply Company. Attendees will also have the chance to have their pets vaccinated. The veterinarian will be available from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

 

Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser

March 11 at Dick’s Brewery, 3516 Galvin Road, Centralia; 11:30 a.m.

Entry is $25 and there will be a random drawing to determine teams. Top three teams will receive prizes. There will be five rounds of cornhole and a silent auction. 

Ladies Night by Gemini Events

March 11 at Vintage Grand Room, 545 N. Market Blvd., Chehalis; 3 to 8 p.m.

Those 21 and over can come get a drink from the champagne bar at the Vintage Grand Room during which there will be a shopping experience featuring over 20 vendors. Once finished, participants can grab a map listing participating businesses offering special deals and explore the businesses of Downtown Chehalis. The event is free but drinks must be purchased. Proceeds from the bar will be donated to the United Way of Lewis County and Experience Chehalis.

 

Tenino Young-at-Heart Theatre Benefit Concert

March 11 at the Evergreen Playhouse, 226 W. Center St., Centralia; 6:30 p.m.

Tenino Young-at-Heart Theatre will host a benefit concert featuring Irish musical group Rattlin’ Bog on Saturday, March 11. The group consists of May Louis Milnes and Bob, Eileen, Isaac and Theresa McKenzieSullivan. The proceeds will go to the theater’s building fund. There will be raffle baskets, drinks, tasty snacks and pass the hat. 

 

Miss Lewis County  

March 11 at the Corbet Theatre, 600 Centralia College Blvd., Centralia; 7 p.m.

The Miss Lewis County Scholarship Program will be held at the Corbet Theatre at 7 p.m.

Luncheon and Fellowship for Women

March 13 at the Church of the Nazarene, 1119 W. First St., Centralia; noon to 1:30 p.m.

This event is for women of all ages. There will be two presentations. Attendees are encouraged to invite a friend and make early reservations by calling Kay at 360-269-2449 or Val at 360-748-4722 or by emailing kaymills13@hotmail.com. 

 

Pacific Northwest Chamber Orchestra Free Concert

March 13 at the Corbet Theater, 600 Centralia College Blvd., Centralia; 7 p.m.

The Pacific Northwest Chamber Orchestra will present a concert entitled “The Planets of Outer Space” on Monday, March 13 at 7 p.m. The concert will be at Centralia College’s Corbet Hall. 

Dr. Joshua Friedlander will conduct the 55 member orchestra during the performance. The orchestra will perform a variety of pieces, including selections from “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Apollo 13,” “Star Trek” and Holst’s “The Planets.” This is a free concert. Masks are recommended but not required.

 

Lewis County Stream Team Tree Planting Party

March 14 at Olive Branch Ranch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Women in Business Seminar 

March 15 at The Vintage-Washington Hotel, 545 N. Market Blvd., Chehalis; 1 to 3 p.m.

The keynote speaker at this Economic Alliance of Lewis County-sponsored will include a panel of local speakers. They are Centralia Mayor Kelly Smith Johnston, Coralee Taylor of The Chronicle and the Silver Agency, Amanda Singleton of Rainier Connect, Suzie Swope of Gurl GOne Green Professional Blogger and Samantha Magnuson of LC Coffee and Nomad Outfitters. The cost of attendance is $10 and attendees can pre-register by calling 360-748-0114. 

 

Internet Safety Community Forum

March 15 at the Centralia College Transalta Commons, 600 Centralia College Blvd., Centralia; 6 p.m.

This is a free workshop for parents and guardians. There will be a presentation by childhood advocate and education consultant Katey McPherson. A Q&A session will follow the workshop. The event will cover what parents should know about the impacts of screen time on developing brains, peer relationships and social-emotional development. The event will have a specific focus on youth mental health and digital safety. 

 

Vet-To-Vet Cafe

March 17 at the Olequa-Winlock Senior Center, 119 SW Kerron St., Winlock; 9:30 a.m.

This event is a social hour open to all veterans of any age or branch. Attendees can enjoy the company of their fellow service members.

 

Noxious Weed Identification Class

March 17 at the Onalaska Fire Department, 1733 Main Ave., Onalaska; 5 to 7 p.m.

There will be a class on how to identify noxious apiaceae weeds. It will cover the topic of identifying giant hogweed vs native cow parsnip, poison hemlock vs water hemlock, and wild carrot and chervils so that attendees can address them appropriately. Those who attend can earn two pesticide credits for free. Attendees are encouraged to preregister as space is limited.
