Country Chic Baby Co. will expand from an online and pop-up shop business model to a new brick-and-mortar store on Friday, Sept. 27, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and other festivities at the new shop.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce, will take place at noon. The shop will remain open until 5 p.m. The business is located at 245 NW Chehalis Ave. in Chehalis.
Festivities will include mimosas by Jody Hill with Better Homes & Garden Realty and specially made cookies from Lucky N Lawless. Goody bags will be given to the first 50 people who attend. The bags include coupons worth anywhere from $5 to $25 with one $50 coupon going to a lucky shopper. Coupons are good for Sept. 27 only. In addition, shoppers will receive a raffle ticket for every purchase they make, entering them into a drawing for a gift basket filled with items from local stores.
Owner Ashley Stotts began her Western- and farm-inspired boutique for babies and moms three years ago. Her line of products started with baby teethers she made herself. From there, she curated a boutique filled with clothes, toys and accessories. She began showcasing her products as a pop-up store at a variety of events and festivals around Lewis County. She was seen recently at the Southwest Washington Fair in August.
“The pop-up shows have been fun and successful, but I’m limited in space,” Stotts said. "Opening a retail outlet allows me to showcase my full product line and collaborate with more local makers, as well as other small business owners from across the country."
Country Chic Baby Boutique sells clothing for newborns to kid sizes 10 to 12. It also offers a small variety of maternity clothes and nursing wear, with plans on expanding that section after opening. Other items, from toys to accessories, will also be available. Customers can continue to shop online, with local pickups available at her new retail space.
Shop hours for the month of October will be 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday with hours and days expanding for the holidays.
