Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters recovered a woman’s body from the Columbia River on Wednesday morning, officials said.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said someone spotted the body floating near the Interstate 5 bridge, and deputies and a Vancouver Fire Department crew pulled her out of the water around 9 a.m.
Officials said that they haven’t identified the woman and that her death is “suspicious.”
She is described as possibly of Asian or Pacific Islander descent, 5-foot-4 inches tall and 150 pounds. The woman has a birthmark on the right side of her calf muscle, officials said.
The Clark County Major Crimes Unit and the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the woman’s death, and officials are asking anyone with information to call the sheriff’s office tip line at 564-397-2847.
