Detectives are investigating the killing of a 55-year-old woman found dead inside her Centralia home on Aug. 5.
Police said the woman, Patricia Ann Marceaux, died from apparent gunshot wounds.
The Lewis County Coroner’s Office released Marceaux’s name in a news release on Friday, and confirmed her death as a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
According to a Friday news release from the Centralia Police Department, officers responded to Marceaux's home in the 1200 block of Marion Street to conduct a welfare check after she failed to show up for work. They found her dead inside.
Centralia Police Department detectives arrived at the scene to investigate and were assisted by the Washington State Patrol Crime Scene Response Team and detectives with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
In its release, the department said there was “no indication” of risk to the general public, and said it had no information that would suggest “an ongoing threat to the community.”
“At this time, no one has been charged, and no persons of interest are being publicly identified,” Centralia Police Chief Andy Caldwell said Friday in an email to The Chronicle. “Detectives are following investigative leads, including coordination with another agency.”
Police said the case remains active, and encouraged anyone with information to contact the Centralia Police Department at 360-330-7680.
