The Summerfest Parade will make its way through downtown Centralia beginning at 4 p.m. July 4, celebrating 250 years of Stars and Stripes.

This year’s parade will be led by 2026 Summerfest Grand Marshal Edna Gorter-Fund, whose dedication and service have made a lasting impact on the community, a news release from the Centralia Downtown Association stated.

Gorter-Fund is a former Centralia city councilor and Lewis County commissioner, and she was voted Best Volunteer in The Chronicle's 2025 Best of Lewis County awards.

She’s also a longtime local historian who continues to contribute as a volunteer to several ongoing efforts in Lewis County, including her previous work on flood mitigation in the Chehalis River Basin.

Parade applications are still open, giving any businesses, organizations, clubs, sports teams, classic cars, floats or community groups a chance to showcase their organization and be part of the community celebration.
