Errors pile up late in Tenino’s lopsided setback

For much of Friday night, the Beavers were in a good spot. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead and right as La Center answered the next time up, Tenino proceeded to respond and take a 4-3 cushion.

Then it all went sideways.

The Wildcats took advantage of seven errors and over the final three innings, tallied a combined 14 runs to put the game well out of race in a 17-4 blowout win over Tenino. They plated three runs in the fifth, a six-run outburst an inning later and five more in the seventh.

At one point in the final frame, the Beavers (0-2) had three straight errors that allowed La Center to grow the lead. They finished with five hits and three stolen bases for the game.

Tenino used a Tamera Snodderly double to open the scoring in the second, then Addyson Sutherland notched an RBI single and a run crossing home on a wild pitch completed the inning.

Snodderly finished with a pair of hits and two RBIs.
