Public safety was not endangered by damage to a gas line caused by an excavator working along Alder Street Friday morning, personnel with Riverside Fire Authority confirmed.
Crews were continuing to monitor the situation Friday as of 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Work trucks from Midway Underground were also on scene.
An excavator reportedly struck the gas line while working near the future Centralia Station site.
