After two years of serving as the United Way of Lewis County’s executive director, Christian Bruhn officially submitted his resignation letter for personal reasons and to move closer to family, according to a United Way news release.

“This decision was not made lightly and is in no way a negative reflection on United Way of Lewis County board, staff or partners,” Bruhn said in the release. “I have taken a great deal of time over the last few months deciding what I need to move forward for my mental and physical wellness and have determined that moving closer to the support of family and friends is an essential component for a positive outcome.”

Bruhn had taken over as executive director after Debbie Campbell retired two years ago. He spent five years as a United Way of Lewis County board member.

“I truly love the United Way and our mission, but I need to do what is best for my happiness and health at this time,” Bruhn said.

United Way of Lewis County’s executive board is currently creating a transition plan to ensure continued progress on the organization’s goals according to the release.

“We thank Christian for his two years of service and wish him the best of luck with his future endeavors,” the release stated.

Offering families a variety of support resources and programs, United Way of Lewis County’s mission is to connect people with resources to create a strong social services network. For more information, visit https://www.lewiscountyuw.com/
