A family of six was displaced after a fire burned through half of their home on Peterson Road near Adna on Friday.

No injuries to the family or firefighters were reported. Firefighters were able to save several family pets from the house.

Crews with Lewis County Fire District 6 were dispatched to the scene Friday mid-afternoon and soon received mutual aid from the Chehalis Fire Department, Riverside Fire Authority, the Department of Natural Resources and Lewis County fire districts 5, 15 and 13.

While the cause of the fire was still under investigation on Monday, the fire reportedly originated in an attached garage port that had been repurposed as a greenhouse, according to Lewis County Fire District 6. In total, the fire burned over 2,000 square feet on the property, which was a working farm.

Crews remained on scene for over four hours on Friday, according to District 6.
