Ella Ferguson pitched another gem on Thursday, as she was nearly perfect in Tumwater’s 14-0 win over Lakes.
Not a single Lancer put the ball in play against Ferguson, as the Tumwater ace struck out 15 of the 16 batters she faced. The only Lancer to reach did so on a hit by pitch.
Ferguson had plenty of run support to work with, as the T-Birds (6-1, 2-0 2A EvCo) scored five in the first, four in the second, and five more in the fourth to take a double-digit lead.
Zoe Fields went 2 for 3 at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs, while Marissa La Praim went 1 for 3 with four runs batted in. Ferguson also helped herself at the plate, going 1 for 2 with a double while scoring two runs.
A big league matchup awaits the Thunderbirds on Friday, as they’ll head to Aberdeen to take on the defending league champions.
